Chef LaKia learned her early culinary skills in her mother’s kitchen. As a young girl, she wanted to absorb it all. With each recipe, kitchen conversation, and feeling of pure joy that came from
eating good food with her loving family, her infatuation seemed to grow. She found herself constantly passing up on child like pass times such as Saturday morning cartoons in order to watch the Food Network and mimic what she saw, and she made her mother try everything she created.

Many years later in Arizona, she put her cooking skills to use while attending Arizona State University. She hosted a plethora of parties that allowed her close family and friends to enjoy their love of food together.
